The Joys Of Comping: December Wins

It’s been a reasonably good month for little bits of a stocking filler/ slash food persuasion, and anything food based is always popular in this house! I haven’t gone overboard with advents, only doing a few each day that I bookmarked and with Christmas activities for three children, I probably entered less than in a normal month, so I’ve done pretty well.

Hipp Organic PouchThis was a like and comment on Instagram. My daughter scoffed it down pretty quick so it must be nice!

In The Night Garden MagnetsThese were from day one of the In the Night Garden advent calendar and I think pretty much everyone must have won some as they were giving away thousands of them. They made a lovely stocking filler for my little boy, who has decorated the fridge with them.

Emoji Movie Lunchbox

This was the second lunchbox I won from the daily photo competition from Cheesestrings meaning both of my boys had one in their stockings.

Emoji Movie Erasers

These were another nice little stocking fillers from the Cheesestrings competition. The Emoji stickers that I won in November also arrived at the start of the month.

Box Of Drinks and Nibbles

I won this for my colleagues in an Instagram competition with Pip Organic where you had to comment with what you were doing for your Christmas do. This arrived the day after some very sad news at work so was a well-timed pick me up.

A Toppsta bookA lovely colourful picture book to review from Toppsta. The little ones enjoyed this, when we were cosied up indoors hiding from the bad weather!

Festive Pastry CasesThis lovely batch of festive goodies was from Pidy UK on Instagram- fill your own mince pie cases with stars on the top which we had on Christmas Eve and cute Christmas tree shaped vol au vents which we had as a starter on Christmas Day and the kids thought were great fun.

A Week’s Supply of Kitkats This was a quick Twitter RT from small local company Free2MoveLeaseUK, which came up on my local radius search on Tweetdeck, and didn’t have many entries. Free chocolate is always a bonus.

California Raisins GoodiesI wrote a blog post at the end of December about all the different decorations on my Christmas tree and the stories behind them (you can read it here) and how I didn’t have a decoration that I had won. I managed to rectify that this year by winning a decoration from California Raisins! Even better, when it arrived it came with a California Raisins advent calendar which is really cool, and perfect for little ones.

Baby Keepsake Books and Tower Of TreatsThis was Day 13 on the Bump, Baby and You advent. The books are lovely, with pouches to pop photos into and will make lovely gifts. The Tower of Treats is totally awesome with chocolates, fudge, toffee, biscuits and panettone. It has had pride of place on my coffee table and almost looked too good to open!

Festive Mug Huggers

These are biscuits which sit on the side of your cup, won from a local food company Arden Foods on twitter. It was a competition that I spotted on one of my local columns on Tweetdeck and was very low entry for a RT competition, only 20 entries for 10 prizes!

Pirates Magnified book

I entered a Twitter RT competition from Quarto books to win a different book and didn’t win, but they very kindly sent out some additional books to people who had entered. It’s a lovely book which I’ve put aside for my eldest’s birthday.

Chewigem Bangle

My son loves his chewy bangles from Chewigem so I entered all their advent competitions on Facebook and Instagram and finally won one for him right at the end of December on Instagram. He’s picked a pink camouflage tread bangle.

And a Mystery Prize To End The Year

I have no idea what this is going to be! It was an advent win from a local restaurant called Cosmo’s on their Facebook page. It is collection only so there were only about 20 entries each day. Collection is after the 9th January so we’ll just have to wait and see what it is- any guesses?

Prizes That Arrived in December From Previous Months

Box Of Books From Mumsnet These were perfect for my son for Christmas- he’s really enjoying them. For further details, see my November Wins post

These goodies were a lovely way to round off what has been a pretty good year. You can catch my review of the year here with stats and pie charts!

  1. You really make it appear so easy along with your presentation however I find this topic to be really one thing which I think I’d never understand. It sort of feels too complex and extremely wide for me. I’m having a look ahead on your subsequent post, I will attempt to get the hold of it!
